I agree that it is flawed, but I still find it very useful. Every form of communication has its good and bad points, IMO. We should try to utilize each one in ways which optimizes its usefulness. I also think that one can get better with practice. (Maybe I'm deluded, but I feel that I'm much better at writing email posts now than I was a few years ago)...
