The first is certainly true, but in this country we're all pretty used to
using the american legal calendar.  For the second, I think just about all
religions have winter holidays, though i'm sure there are a handful out
there that don't.  I take your point, but those were just thoughts of other
ways of phrasing it.

It's not a question of being offended - I mostly wasn't.  But it didn't make
it sound like a place that I would want to live, so i figured it was worth
mentioning :)
