** Reply to note from Sharon Villines <sharon [at] sharonvillines.com> Mon, 24 Dec 2001 12:21:34 -0500 >From Racheli In a strict sense, one could understand the "ideology free" statement to mean that we don't hold on to any "pre-packaged" ideology, eg: we aren't all anarchists, or capitalists, or radical feminists, etc. But I think that any group of people ends up with their set of values, which I think could be loosely called its ideological base, even though not perhaps in the strict sense you suggest. But the above is kind of abstract. In real life, the distinctions often get blurred, or lose their meaning. If I'm against much of the ways trees are logged, is that "value based", or "ideologically based"? - Does it matter?
