I think that it depends somewhat on location of your site. So far, Manzanita Village residents have reduced the number of cars by one, out of thirteen households (we start building again in a couple of months.). But that may be because we are located within walking distance of the center of the city. We do borrow/lend cars and trucks, and carpool rather freely. It's like being in a twenty-member family, and I strongly recommend it, to those who haven't tried it.
