Now there's a subject line! Your editor here with an idea buzzing about in her brain about cohousing and the environment (a core theme for this growing issue). Given the shared environmental and sustainability goals many of us have, what is it ACTUALLY like for a community to live in balance with "nature." What experience have any of you had with so-called wild creatures who may choose to inhabit the environment with you? I am thinking most immediately of the coyotes who came back to the hill when Nyland restored the prarie, along with foxes, snakes, and so forth, the prarie dogs that reinhabited the designated "park" next to Commons on the Alameda .... do any of you have stories about the sometimes precarious balance of living in cohousing/nature?
