Ahh the problem with weeds and exotic plants and animals. Their presence kills native plants and animals. If the exotics were not here, fewer native birds would have their nests taken over and their eggs killed, more flowers would bloom, more food for native animals would be available and fewer native animals would starve to death. When these exotics are killed, another life is saved. Often times much more than a life is saved. Sometimes whole species are saved. These weeds and exotic animals are not killed because they are inconvenient. They are removed because they harm the natural environment. Just look at the damage feral cats do to bird populations. I vote for maintaining the natural ecosystem and the species it supports, and that since this often means removing (and killing) exotics, so be it.
