Hello,
This 'pod' - model is very well known in the Netherlands, where it is called
'woonclusters' inside some of their communities. The Dutch communities
(which they call 'centraal wonen') however usually have less commitment of
the members, common meals are seldom, so activities in the clusters do not
have as much impact on the community as they would in a cohousing project, I
suppose.
I am quite sure you can get more information at the Dutch Organisation :
'Landelijke Vereniging Centraal Wonen' at http://antenna.nl/lvcw/

with my best regards,
