Wanted to let the list know I got good help from Diane Simpson of Jamaica
Plain as she has collated messages re steering committees and sent them
along to me.

I still need:

1) examples of documents which lay out the roles and responsibilities of a
steering/managing/coordinating committee, one that does have some
decision-making ability

2) examples of documents which lay out a successful work credit system (we
have the one from Santa Fe Cohousing ? thank you!)

3) thoughts/documents which lay out a successful way of distinquising
between critical/noncritical or vital/optional tasks so that everyone feels
valued for what they do and everyone feels they have an important
contribution to make.

A final thought ? my perception of what is happening in my community is that
the ones who do a lot of work don't necessarily expect everyone to do the
same as they do, but they do get tired and sometimes overburdened. The ones
who aren't doing as much actual "work" seem to have the most difficulty with
guilt/resentment, because they see others doing more and feel guilty or
resent what they perceive to be unrealistic expectations for work. And we
really don't seem to have those spontaneous, fun social things happening to
balance it out.

I think there IS too much work.

Thanks,
Cheryl
