What would be changed if we were to do it over again is more supervision of
execution. The placement of outlets was not followed -- and we do have
wiring for ethernet, cable, telephone in one jack, 4 in each unit -- and
mine ended up in places I wouldn't have put them.

All the light switches are several inches from the edge of the wall so I not
only look for them but they interfere with the placement of furniture and
pictures. In units with electric fireplaces there are two switches, one for
the fire and one for the blower. They were placed in oddly and in plain
sight as you look at the fireplace -- in one case above the fireplace on
each side where you would have to put a very large painting to hide them.

The floor plans for some kitchens had to be changed to make room for larger
mechanical closets but the elevations were not changed so when the cabinet
installers set to work, the cabinets didn't fit. They put them in anyway
making some very odd door opening maneuvers.

We did have a consultant examining construction stuff like proper
installation of the infra structure and our design team was very active and
involved with all the details, but when push came to shove at the end, stuff
when in where the particular workman thought it should go -- or it was
easiest to put it.
