Hi! I have been on this list off and on, but never posted before. I'm in the very early stages of starting a cohousing group (we're trying to get one going in Santa Barbara, CA), and it occurred to me: are there any charitable foundations that give out grants to help people start cohousing communities? I did a quick Web search and came up with nothing, but thought surely someone on this list would know! Part of my reason for asking is selfish -- if there is a foundation, I'm sure I would want our group to apply for a grant. But it also seems like such an obvious need to me that if there isn't such a foundation, I'd like to think about starting one. I would love to be able to raise enough money specifically for this cause, so that ultimately groups could apply for seed money or land-buying grants that could make building MORE projects more feasible. There are clearly a lot of issues involved with such an undertaking, but I am curious what people think. Any thoughts, ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated! Thanks so much, --Jenifer Ragland _______________________________________________ Cohousing-L mailing list Cohousing-L [at] cohousing.org Unsubscribe and other info: http://www.communityforum.net/mailman/listinfo/cohousing-l
