Hi Cat, Alchemy Farm has done a bit on this front. We formed with a strong interest in renewable energy and related environmental issues. Since we are a lot development model, individual owners have implemented their own ideas and interests differently on each home. Across the community we have photovoltaic solar electric systems (PV), solar hot water, composting toilets, passive solar design, rainwater catchment, super-insulation, green building materials and technologies. I can give details if you need particulars. Photos are harder, though. For anyone in the New England area that wants to visit, we are going to be participating in the Green Buildings Open House on Oct 5th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm though don't have all the details uploaded yet. I would like to include in my talk a couple of examples of cohousing communities that have employed renewable energy (and other sustainable) technologies. Specifically photovoltaics, wind, solar hot water, rainwater collection, green building, etc. I would appreciate any tips -- which communities have gone the furthest in the renewable energy and green building direction? Thanks! Cat Barron Oak Village Commons Oak Hill (Austin), TX P.S. I'm interested in this topic beyond just the talk I'm giving -- Oak Village Commons is going as green as possible for our project (www.oakhillcohousing.org). _______________________________________________ Cohousing-L mailing list Cohousing-L [at] cohousing.org Unsubscribe and other info: http://www.communityforum.net/mailman/listinfo/cohousing-l
