Dear List, I have heard of a range of community activism originating from cohousing communities. If your community is involved in political, environmental, social, cultural/arts activism, would you be so kind to reply to me off list and let me know what you are up to? (send to pattymara [at] juno.com) I will compile details and post to the list later. Specifically, I would love to hear the details about the two families in an East coast community who adopted a sibling group of 4 (heard about it at the last coho conference in Berkeley). Any other examples of adoption, foster care outreach? I also need details from Rosewind (Port Townsand, WA) , who have member(s) who were elected to political offices (Lynn?), and from Pintacarri in Australia which is active in housing co-ops and old growth forest protection (Robyn?). Any other examples? Thanks in advance, Patty Mara Tierra Nueva, central CA coast, where Neighbors At Risk, a coalition of the surrounding neighborhoods close to Tierra Nueva, has been successfully working together to transform a pesticide-laden factory farm into a sustainable, community supported "farm without harm". ________________________________________________________________ Sign Up for Juno Platinum Internet Access Today Only $9.95 per month!
