Would you like to experience cohousing first hand in the beautiful SF Bay 
Area at NO COST for 2 to 2 1/2 weeks this spring/summer?  I live in the 
most urban cohousing community in North America (in downtown Oakland, CA) 
and will be at the cohousing conference and then on the East Coast from 
June 18 through July 3 (or July 7 if I decide to stay over the holiday 
weekend).

My unit is a loft with two full size beds, one downstairs in the "great 
room" and another in the sleeping loft which is also my office. There is 
only one bath. It is very comfortable for up to three adults, or up to two 
adults and a couple of kids (one of whom can sleep on the couch if the two 
are not small enough or compatible enough to share a bed).  However, as the 
loft is open to below, the two beds are visually but not acoustically  private.

Our community is located near "everything" including Oakland's underrated 
and largely unknown Chinatown, the Oakland Museum of California and Jack 
London Square.  It is a short BART ride to downtown San Francisco (15 
minutes) and the UC Berkeley campus (7 minutes).

I'm pretty sure you will be welcome to participate in common meals (up to 
three a week)--and perhaps participate in a workday and help prepare one of 
those common meals while you are here.  Although I don't expect to be paid 
for your stay here, I hope you will provide some loving and 
companionship--as well as the occasional walk to Bapu, my cuddly 
miniature/toy poodle, and perhaps water my plants every few days.  [note: 
this dog is completely dog-odor- free and hypo-allergenic]. He will be 
happy to sleep with you if you like that and perfectly willing to curl up 
on the couch or a chair if you don't.
