All 3 had some method of screening new members. The processes varied, taking from months to years. The communities I have lived in: The Monastery of the Poor Clares, Kokomo, Indiana and The Word of God Community, Ann Arbor Michigan. The community I investigated was Twin Oaks, Louisa, Virginia. Of these, The Monastery of the Poor Clares had the longest screening process. I believe that it is also the oldest of the three.
