Anne, thank you for your calm input. I really was looking into a discussion
about outreach, and I've got it.

"(I'm assuming this is a serious thread and not just bait.)"

It is serious, not a bait (what is a bait, anyways?)

"My experience with our coho group is that most of our members joined because
of the people, the community and the envirnomental concerns we shared and were
totally disinterested in the infrastructure."

That's good information for my outreach program. This is the kind of
information I'm looking for. See, this is a very objective statement about
your community, something that I might use on our website.

re: condos:

"In fact, the less interaction they have
with their neighbors, the happier they are. " Sad, innit? That's why I'm
itching to get into a coho.

"What do you see as the benefit of making cohousing more "mainstream"? "

I'm not trying or maiking cohousing more mainstream. I've read and heard that
cohousing is a great eco-sustanability movement because it ATTRACTS THE
MAINSTREAM to more ecological choices, introduces concepts of sustainablity,
reducing eco-footprint, reducing output, combining home with livelyhood, etc.

"Why do you feel it's important to not reduce the standard of living?"

I want to reduce a whole lot of things, but not my standard of living. Mainly,
I want to reduce the EFFECT of my standard of living! (by the way, I already
reduced a lot on my standard of living, but that's for a more personal
discussion... another day.)
