Dear North American Carsharing Community:

I am writing on behalf of Innovative Mobility Research, a transportation
program directed by Dr. Susan Shaheen, regarding the results of our recent
market growth research. We want to thank you for providing us with your
recent member and vehicle numbers. This helps us in our effort to map the
continuing evolution of carsharing and station car programs in the U.S.
and Canada, but also allows us to monitor the most current carsharing
trends.

We wanted to provide you with the six-month North American industry size
update:

?       As of June 2006, 17 U.S. carsharing programs claimed 101,993 members
sharing 2,558 vehicles, and

?       As of June 2006, 15,663 members shared 779 vehicles among 11 carsharing
organizations in Canada.
