Takoma Village was also built on a plot of land surrounded by housing in a neighborhood with houses dating from the late to early 19th century. It was once a dry cleaning plant but had been most recently a used car lot.
I should also have added commercial buildings. We are next door to a Jacob Zink movie theater built in 1923 and across from the old neighborhood Safeway (now an African American church and school). The train tracks run behind and the main street north of us is commercial as well.
