Good Evening,

I come late to the responses to:

Coho Cohousing in Corvallis expects to close its construction load this
week. As of today we have 3 homes left, all reserved for income eligible
buyers. The three homes are: two 2 Bedroom flats at $211,400 and a 1.5
bedroom townhouse at $228,000.

AND, each of these income eligible folks, if they have the right financial
fit, can qualify for a $50,000 to $60,000 zero percent interest second
mortage, meaning you only have to qualify for a $160,000 to $170,000 first
mortgage not the full home price. The details can be found at
http://www.cohousing-corvallis.com/docs/sambrochure.pdf
but it is written in very confusing language. Call the folks listed on our
"contact us" page to get a clearer description of what it all means.

We expect to move in next summer. As to living simply, in our own documents
we include the title "Ecovillage" in our title and the community intent of
sustainble living is reflected in our vision statement. In practical fact
we have a range of folks on the "simplicity" scale. From a member who
prides herself on creating less than one garbage can of waste per year to
folks who like the idea of sustainable living but are new to trying
sustainable practices.

As for non-polluted, I regret that I've reached the limit of positive things
I can say in one message about Oregon without crossing over the appropriate
boundary of the old state tourist slogan, "please come visit, but for
heaven's sake, don't stay" (as stated by the moderate Republican govenor who
fostered our wonderful land use laws).
