His talk is free and open. In 1974, three years after earning his Ph.D. in mathematics from Brandeis University, Harvey helped found the Dunmire Hollow Community, near Waynesboro, Tennessee, where he built a house and established a custom woodworking business. In 1986, he became involved with the Fellowship for Intentional Community (www.ic.org ), and has served on its board since 1988.
