Description:
Harvey Baker, Oberlin College Class of 1966, will speak on "Guerilla
Community Building" Wednesday, September 26 at 8 pm in Wilder 211.
His talk is free and open. In 1974, three years after earning his
Ph.D. in mathematics from Brandeis University, Harvey helped found
the Dunmire Hollow
Community, near Waynesboro, Tennessee, where he built a house and
established a custom woodworking business. In 1986, he became
involved with the Fellowship for Intentional Community (www.ic.org ),
and has served on its board since 1988. In 1990 he joined the board
of the Communal Studies Association, serving as its resident, 1996-98.
