Re: Guidelines for E-mail use

At Sharingwood we have some headers which go in the subject line in order to
identify certain kinds of messages. For example, the header: Shirley's list
indicates that the email is about an item that is for sale or for free. The
header: RANT indicates a strong emotionally charged opinion message. Using
headers allows members to easily sift through email and read what they
choose.

Email is our primary information broadcast medium. All our members use it
but one and he has a buddy who tells him anything important going on.

Subject: [C-L]_ Guidelines for E-mail use

Hello-

Does your cohousing group have e-mail guidelines or an e-mail policy? Would
you be willing to share it?

I'm in Fresno and our facilitation committee is just getting started
drafting this. I'd like to make use of whatever work has already been done,
so as not to reinvent the wheel.

We're trying to address at least these issues:
  a.. e-mail etiquette
b.. what to do about members who don't have e-mail
c.. what to do about members who have e-mail but don't respond to it
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
