And the tables that Sharon has pointed us to from Southern Aluminum are really not at all good because there's no way anyone can sit at the ends of those table.
We now have similar legs and it is a problem. Southern Aluminum does have another leg that is A shaped. We are having the sales rep come and show us this one. We do want folding tables and do fold them up for dances, parties, large events (stand up), cleaning, etc.
Southern Aluminum also makes a 6 foot table for which the legs may be placed in further in so they would be less in the way, but we need to confirm this. The problem is having enough room under the table for both legs to fold flat under the table.
The card table size does have legs at the corner but this is a "specialty" table and relatively more expensive for less seating space although they could be grouped in more configurations. We have some tables this size and they have pedestal legs but they are much less stable because they are taken apart to store. This wears out the attachments.
Another thing to check is that we have lost some of the adjusting feet and have not been able to find replacements. If you get tables with these feet, buy extra when you buy the tables or choose tables with a standard foot. They may use a different size if you go back to them later.
But even then remember that by far the most important use of those tables is to have a really wonderful place to enjoy your common meals and the attendant conversations.
Actually our biggest use is for meetings and other activities in a range of sizes, thus moving the tables around for various configurations is the biggest problem with the heavy tables. We have only one meal a week and the tables have to be moved back into position for this. Also they need to be moved for cleaning and are folded away for deep cleaning.
We move them more than once a week, although we don't fold and put them away more than once (maybe twice?) a month. We don't have room to stack tables in a corner and still have room for any activity that we would want to have the tables moved for.
