Disabled folks in your community?

Hi all out there in CoHousing land. We, A Home In Community
(www.ahomeincommunity.org), have gotten our non profit status, raised money
(donation and loans), got Mike
(http://www.ahomeincommunity.org/ahomeformike.html) in his home. Now we are
focusing on raising the rest of the money to pay off the loans AND this is why
I am sending this email - learning enough to be able to reach our other goals
of:

    * Educating communities and people living with disabilities about the
benefits of living in community together.
    * Providing information and support that makes it happen.
    * Partnering with Cohousing Communities to create subsidized rental
opportunities for low-income adults with disabilities.

We are spending the next year learning...part of that is seeking out other
communities that have people living with disabilities living in their
communities. We would love to hear from those living with disabilities and
those living with these folks. Our desire is to learn as much as we can about
what is working, what helped, what are the issues, concerns that have come up.

Please email me at juva [at] comcast.net or call 541-908-5882 with your
experience or a led on someone to talk with. Thanks in advance....

Juva (CoHo Ecovillage, Corvallis Oregon, we moved in Oct 2007 and loving
it--will love it more as the rains slow and sun comes out more so we can plant
and play in our land!!! Much of which has a permiculture landscape design that
we are working on completing and then our our little plots of land that are
open to discovery at this time!!!)
