The for-sale listings help me see the vibrancy of the cohousing movement in a more personal way. Every summer, I give a talk and tour to prospective cohousers from all over the country (at a Unitarian Universalist camp) and at least one of the attendees has purchased a cohousing unit in another state. My knowledge of cohousing from this listserve helped me steer them to that community. I am not only a coho resident, but a member of a new community selling homes. While we do have a marketplace ad, this enables us to reach an entirely different group of folk. I would hope that the Cohousing Association would help open doors for forming groups, not close them. Molly Lazar resident, Shadowlake Village Cohousing, Blacksburg, VA (Where I just gave a talk about cohousing called, "The Spirituality of a Village.") member, Blue Ridge Cohousing, Crozet, VA (Where yesterday we had a 'miracle meeting' raising the full $500K required by our nonprofit developer) ----- Original Message ---- From: Racheli Gai <racheli [at] sonoracohousing.com> To: Cohousing-L <cohousing-l [at] cohousing.org> Sent: Sunday, April 6, 2008 2:50:13 PM Subject: Re: [C-L]_ Advertising available houses on this list As a long time member of this list, I wish to say that I have absolutely no objection to people advertising coho houses for sale or rent on this list.
