Ann and Craig,You both have good points. I too have compromised mobility and have spent much time on crutches and a very little in a wheelchair. Much of the time, it is easier for me to walk on ramps rather than steps. Nova Scotia has a maritime climate with ice underfoot on and off through the long winter. Having to go outside might not be very appealing, but the elevator is beyond our electrical capacity.
We started out wanting an indoor street. We can't figure an economical way to do that yet, either.
