Actually not true -- George Bush, the National Rifle Association, etc.
So in cohousing, it would be what are the things the community bitches about, and what could it do to change it? I think doing this exercise as a group in order to write a clear vision or mission statement would work well. It could certainly help us if we ever sat down to do it.
This would be for new communities. What do you have in your current neighborhood that you don't like. Then switch that to a positive statement. This will help bring the goals down to tangible characteristics or physical design qualities that are achievable.
An established community can start with "What I like about the community and how it can be strengthened." But there may also be a place for what bugs me.
