Hi-Right now the organizers are just trying to break even for the community, I think. The Common Grounds Cafe @ EVC has a K-cup machine stocked with fair trade coffee and tea. Also, a covered tray of sealed snacks from Trader Joe's and elsewhere. There's a cash box bolted to the wall and some soy creamer in the fridge nearby. For now, there's also a log sheet so usage can be tracked during start- up. I think the organizers plan to try to go with paypal accounts for regulars at some point.
We do have fund raisers from time to time. Most of the kid birthday parties around EVC at least collect canned goods and many take donations for a cause. We have had some concerts and a big fund- raising dinners where we sold tickets. Every community has its own culture, and EVC seems to be pretty social. More all the time.
