The reason for raising all the technology issues on the list is that since we are all saving the same information and performing the same tasks, it seems it would help to have some standards use. The FIC wiki is for general information, not specific community information. The non-pubic stuff. A few years ago, I was unsuccessful in finding a person at another community to help me put the workshare database I designed online. I did the design, scripts, etc. but the on the web stuff was too daunting. I think it would have been very helpful to many communities. The wiki has been such an incredible success, not just because it stores information well, but because people will use it. They put stuff in and they read it. Small miracle. The problem is we are getting information stored in too many places with too many passwords and it frustrates people. Including me because i have to tell people how to do things much too frequently — and they don't like having to ask. We do have standard passwords but different sites require different formats, lengths, etc., so best laid plans 10 years in …….
