Several years ago several communities and cohousers sent me info on their use of wiki's for their community records. I was unable to move on that info because wiki's were still html coding-dependent. My residents are all fully coding independent. We are now using Google Sites which is fabulous but I'm becoming uncomfortable about using a service over which we have no control. I did find directions for exporting all the data but haven't tried it. But, the question is, how hard is it to put a wiki program on our server. I just learned Wordpress and it has taken time to get up to speed — still lots to learn. But is the wiki software similar or is there more gibberish involved. It's the gibberish that clogs my brain. Our people love the wiki, even the technophobes. I did a clone for reserve study people last year if you would like to look at a fraction of the stuff we store there. It is as easy as email or forums and much easier to find stuff and lovelier to look at. https://sites.google.com/site/wikifacilitiesdemo/ All info welcome, Sharon ---- Sharon Villines Takoma Village Cohousing, Washington DC http://www.takomavillage.org
