There's no better holiday gift for people you know who are interested
in community and cooperation than Communities magazine.

Whether it's you, a relative, a friend, a neighbor, an activist group,
a community of faith, a business, an intentional community, a library,
or maybe all of those, we're sure you know someone(s) who'd be
thrilled to get the latest insights and information on cooperative
culture—delivered right to their mail box every three months.

>From now through the end of the year, you can give five or more
one-year subscriptions at 15% off (that's just $20 apiece instead of
$24 per subscription, and there is no limit to the number of gift
subscriptions you can get at $20 apiece).

Your Holiday Gifts Can Help Communities Grow

We are seeking more subscribers, and we're asking help from you—the
people who know best why this vital publication is a shining light,
offering practical hope for a world that works.

We want you to know that your support at this time is critical, as we
face projected budget shortfalls that could jeopardize our ability to
publish the magazine. Right now, there are about 1200 paid subscribers
to Communities , and that's not enough. As publisher of Communities
since 1992, FIC is willing to sustain modest annual operating losses
because of how well the magazine (a communities movement mainstay
since its start in 1972) fits as a part of our family of publications
about cooperative living. But recent budget projections have been
alarming. Because we're committed to continuing to serve you and the
wider cause of cooperative culture, we're appealing for your support
to allow that to happen.

We believe (and have heard from many of you) that the magazine has
never looked better and the articles have never been more heartfelt
and practical. We know that there are at least another 1000 people out
there who would love what Communities has to offer, and we're asking
your help in finding them.

If our subscriber base could be boosted from 1200 to 2200, our red ink
would be transformed to black. We invite you to help us make it so.

Please go to store.ic.org/communities/gifts.php and give the gift of
Communities this holiday season. By doing so, you'll simultaneously be
helping FIC, helping friends and loved ones, and helping to build a
better world. Thank you!

Communities magazine serves Songaia Cohousing Community, my home since
1992, as it thrives and grows its future. We used it often throughout
our community formation and transformation from a small housing
coooperative to a developed cohousing community. On my visits to other
cohousing communities I see it gracing the common houses of many. I
wholeheartedly endorse and recommend that you consider joining those
who are learning from this invaluable resource with each new issue.

I also strongly recommend Communities for those who are considering
cohousing as a part of their future. You'll learn about forming groups
and existing communities and will be more able to take the required
actions to join an existing community or form a new one.
