Communication Social and Anti-social? Was: Common House Use Proposal

Honorable CoHo Forum:

I think Olson is quite right about the value of using subject lines that relate to the context. Please note that I have tried to label the subject of this post in that spirit, while retaining the previous one in a secondary position for the convenience of those who wish to figure out what prompted the "digression." (Since McIntire did not refer to any specific post or remark I have made, I must presume that he find it all offensive? It this true? If not, what is true? I presume that McIntire is displeased about something, but I don't know what. Does he believe that the alternative I suggested should not have been suggested in the first place? Are alternative ways of looking at a phenomenon taboo in general? Are all CoHo residents prohibited from disagreeing with prohibitions or practices or is it just people interested in the subject but do not yet live in a CoHo?

Co-mmunication is a social activity. Is that statement correct or incorrect?

WT

PS: McIntire's post seems to be a command, but perhaps it is only a suggestion. Which is it? Or does he mean that I should be prohibited from posting at all? Is he offended solely because I have "taken up too much space?" What are the space limitations? How does one determine how much is too much and who might be disturbed by a statement about an issue as opposed to a personal one? I agree fully with the principle that posts should be restricted (voluntarily) to issues and not personalities and rudeness is best left off posts, but I do not insist that people be prohibited from posting ad hominem or even rude comments. I also agree with Olson that posts should include only relevant material; however, I do have some difficulty determining how much is relevant in the opinion of the moderator. However, it is my policy never to argue with moderators, whether or not I agree with them.

Whoa, Wayne, please stop taking up so much space on this forum. Let's get
back to the question about common house policies.
