People keep bringing up the issue of other cats moving in if there
were no local cats in our neighborhood. This misses the point
that we can catch a feral cat and take it to the humane society, while
we won't do it to our neighbors' cats, even when they're driving
us nuts. Racheli. On Jun 28, 2011, at 11:15 AM, R.N. Johnson wrote:
Cats in urban and suburban areas are "crowded" as far as having enough territory to sustainably hunt in, and that is why they are a danger to wildlife (and why they fight amongst themselves so much). One or two cats per square mile would not be an issue, but many cats all hunting in the same area are a menace. If outdoor cats had to rely exclusively on hunting to eat, many would soon move on to less crowded territory or die of starvation.Randa Johnson New Brighton Cohousing Aptos, CA ************************** _________________________________________________________________ Cohousing-L mailing list -- Unsubscribe, archives and other info at: http://www.cohousing.org/cohousing-L/
