But ... for most of us, all of our choices are a forced choice exercise. Perhaps a few of us can afford a great health care plan in old age, a chalet in Switzerland, a new parish hall for our church, custom-made shoes, and a Palomino pony. But most of us, including me, and including my community, have to prioritize and choose. This, but not that. The interesting part is, How do we do this as a community? The point I sought to make was, How the inevitable forced choice is described and defined, is vitally important. For either rating or ranking.
