Here is our pet policy at Manzanita Village:

Pets in Manzanita Village

Each household may keep as many as three pets (dogs or cats) provided that:

        • Pets are only for enjoyment and NOT maintained for any commercial
purpose.
        • Pets are not allowed to become a nuisance to other residents.
        • Owner(s) follows the guidelines outlined below.
Guidelines for Pet Owners
        • No pets are allowed inside the Common House.
        • Pets are not allowed to roam free, but must at all times be
accompanied by and under control of an owner (or designated sitter) meaning
either leashed or within sight of and under voice control.
        • Barking and other pet noise, unpleasant for neighboring residents, is
to be controlled. At night all pets must be kept in the owner’s dwelling or
patio area.
        • Owner may walk pets on Jacob Lane and Benjamin Drive so long as pets
are not a threat to children, and so long as owner immediately cleans up after
the pets. Pets should not be allowed to run through or relieve themselves on
neighbors’ private property.
        • To minimize odors, please double bag and store cleaned up residue on
your premises until the night before dumpster pickup which is early Monday and
Thursday mornings.
General Guidelines for All Residents:
        • Please do not feed 4-footed wild animals (especially javelina) or
other people’s pets.
        • Please do not allow children to feed, pet, or pick up animals without
owner’s permission.
        • Neighbors adhering to our pet rules are welcome to walk through
Manzanita Village with their pets. However, unleashed and unidentified pets
posing a hazard to our residents or property should be reported to the City of
Prescott Animal Control at 777-1135.

A complex system that does not work is invariably found to have evolved from a
simpler system that worked just fine.
