Re: Can we change the platform for this listserve?

Re the possibility of migrating to Google Groups, my community had to move
to a new listserv platform on zero notice 3 years ago when our old provider
dumped us one day. As there was no time to research or experiment, I
immediately moved our 80-ish listserv subscribers to Google Groups which
was, indeed, very easy to set up.

However, I was able to mass-add only 10 emails at a time (so it required 9
iterations), and 2 or 3 people's emails could not be added by the
list-owner and had to be invited. Also, the format for adding
name-and-email entries in Google Groups was different from the previous
platform's Mailman format, so that took a good amount of front-end work on
my part.

I don't know if those issues still exist, but they caused the migration to
be more aggravating than I would have liked, and I assume Cohousing-L has a
lot more than 80-ish members.
