Our California community has recently been told by one real estate agent that communication between prospective buyers and community members should only go through real estate agents after a prospective buyer has viewed a unit and has signed on with a real estate agent. Has any other community encountered this request and know of any California or national real estate law or regulation that governs such restrictions about communications between prospective buyers and community members? What about after a buyer is in contract to buy a unit? Are you aware of any real estate and/or legal restrictions about the buyer communicating with community members before the closing date? This agent is insisting that no direct communication take place between buyer and community during this period. Jyoti Rae
