A lot of posts here have noted correctly that we need systemic changes in housing policy to make it affordable for the masses. It needs to be considered a human right, decommodified instead of an "investment" and a profit center. For a glimpse of what might have been (alas), have a look at Bernie Sanders' extensive housing plank <https://berniesanders.com/issues/housing-all/> from his 2020 platform. There''s no mention of cohousing per se, but there's a hint of a nod to one of its central principles: - "Ensure that public housing has high-quality, shared community spaces." I recall the 2016 version being even more radical (less reliance on incentives for private capital) but it doesn't seem to be available any longer. David, Southside Park, Sacramento
