affordable co- (and other) housing

A lot of posts here have noted correctly that we need systemic changes in
housing policy to make it affordable for the masses. It needs to be
considered a human right, decommodified instead of an "investment" and
a profit center.
For a glimpse of what might have been (alas), have a look at Bernie
Sanders' extensive housing plank
<https://berniesanders.com/issues/housing-all/> from his 2020 platform.
There''s no mention of cohousing per se, but there's a hint of a nod to one
of its central principles:

   - "Ensure that public housing has high-quality, shared community spaces."

I recall the 2016 version being even more radical (less reliance on
incentives for private capital) but it doesn't seem to be available any
longer.
