Hi Anita,

I've done this twice! Two different communities. 

So much of it depends on your site logistics. Is it a multi-story building? Do 
you have an elevator? What is your truck access? Do you expect to get 
certificates of occupancy on individual units? Will something like elevator or 
fire inspection delay access to the whole building or any of the units? 

I don't have anything written down but would be happy to chat with whoever is 
in charge. You need someone who is very familiar with the status of 
construction and inspections in the time leading up to move-in. You may think 
the second floor units are ready for move-in but it turns out they're 
installing flooring in the corridor that day and nobody can enter.

Members need to assume there will be delays and allow plenty of flexibility to 
leave their current living situation or they may end up standing on the curb 
with their belongings in a truck and nowhere to go. Also, there will be a 
frenzy of construction going on during move-in. It's a stressful time.

We are looking forward to moving into our community beginning in mid-November, 
and are trying to get a grasp on moving logistics. We've been advised to 
designate a member to act as  Move-in Coordinator, but are struggling a little 
bit to come up with a job description for that role.


Do other communities who have used a move-in coordinator have a description 
they could share? It would be much appreciated!
