Happy Friday everyone! The National Cohousing Alliance will be back after the long weekend with our next virtual event about how cohousing communities can help make a positive difference in their towns, cities, and more. Cohousing and other intentional communities exist because people are safer, healthier, and more resilient when they are connected. The values and strengths that we prioritize within our communities are needed beyond them too. Luckily, intentional communities can make a big impact on their surrounding neighborhoods, towns, and beyond. Grounded in field research spanning 54 communal housing models across the United States and Australia, Savannah Fishel has investigated how intentional communities can serve as vital social infrastructure tackling some of our entrenched societal problems, across ill health, polarization, housing and climate change. She’ll be sharing her research with us in a one hour workshop next Tuesday, 9/8 at 10am PT // 11am MT. Learn more and register here: https://cohousingalliance.org/product/catalysts-not-bubbles/ Can’t make the time? Feel free to register anyway! We’ll be recording the event and will pass along the recording to all RSVPs. As always, you can reach us at info [at] cohousingalliance.org with any questions. Best, Carolyn Pruitt National Cohousing Alliance (formerly CohoUS)
