Another idea for guests is to contribute gifts like sheets and pillow 
cases, pillows, a box of wine glasses, etc. We have had visiting 
parents (actually) who decided that what we really needed was new 
sheets and they would by them in multiple sets.

We have a plan every year to make a list of things we want so it is 
available to people (residents and guests) who may want to give us 
gifts. Sometimes it happens.
