The idea that everyone uses facilities equally--if they don't use this one they
use that one--has not borne out here. Some are heavy users of many things. With
washers and dryers which have a life-time directly proportionate to their use,
a payment per load would compensate for their repair and replacement."

Good point Sharon. At JPCohousing, users pay $1 per load. Users put a check
by their name on a sheet in the laundry room, 1 check per load. The fees get
calculated and added to the monthly condo fee bill. We've saved enough to be
able to repair and replace machines when needed.
