We purchased commercial grade washers and dryers so they come with coin 
dispensers. The one on the washer  has been disabled. The dryers require 4 
quarters to turn on but they are returned as soon as they start.

Some households have tried to start the chart idea and donated the money to the 
community but stopped because not everyone did. Unless you have a small 
community with shared values, it needs to be equal in order to feel equal.
