*We are a forming cohousing community in rural Southwest Virginia. We are
putting the finishing touches on our preparations to break ground. We have
close to half of our members, and are ready to launch a major marketing
initiative. *

*All of a sudden the dream is becoming a reality.*

*Several of our current members are sensitive about safety issues for good
reasons. A major concern is children, of course. Other concerns are guns
and other weapons, sex offenders, and the unknown factor of visitors to
the community.*

*Does your community have a hospitality policy regarding visitors to your
property, if not do you wish you did? If so, what is it and has it worked?*

*Does your community have a policy regarding weapons. If not, do you wish
you did? If so, what is it and has it worked?*

*Has your community made a policy about checking into a person's background
in any way, but particularly to determine if he/she might be a registered
sex offender? *

*Please be specific about what policies have been tried, and whether the
community is comfortable with them.*

*As always, thank you so much for your help!*
