Wow, "oldest" seems like an understatement.
"Founded by 15 families in 1971, Sunlight Holding Co"
That's 20 years before "Muir Commons was the first
cohousing community newly constructed in the United States" ...

I note that Sunlight Holding Co is not listed in the Cohousing Directory
http://cohousing.org/directory and I have not found a website or contact
info for them.  I encourage folks in Portland to encourage them to create
a directory listing.

I think the directory is a major resource for demonstrating US cohousing's
prominence and facilitating further development.

BTW Kailash Ecovillage, also in Portland does not seem to embrace the
term cohousing too much tho they look like cohousing to me. ( Sunlight
does describe it as cohousing tho it predates the book by many years. )

Kailash is not in the directory either.  I have encouraged them to
consider an entry but maybe others could do so as well.
