After years of planning and more than a year of permitting issues, the members of Bay State Commons in Malden MA <https://www.baystatecommons.org/> are excited to announce that we have received the demolition permit for the old building on our site and will be breaking ground in early January. Move-in is projected for early 2021. We are incredibly excited! Our 30-unit multi-generational urban co-housing project will be located just 800 feet from the "T" (Boston's subway system) to whisk us into Boston in about 20 minutes. We will be close to several supermarkets, parks and a bike trail. The building will include 5000 sf of common space with a music room, kids' play area, yoga/fitness room, craft room, workshop, and (of course) a wonderful common kitchen/dining/living space. We will have a lawn and garden and 3 terraces. Oh, and there's underground parking - more of it than we would have liked but it will be nice in snowy New England! Everything is being built to be as "green" as possible for our sustainable future together. The silver lining to our long process is that we've had time to build a really great community of people - we feel like family already. AND we have pre-sold 23 of the units. But there's still time to join us! We have a few studios and one bedroom units available. Please visit our newly revamped website <https://www.baystatecommons.org/> to check it all out and spread the word to anyone you know who might be interested in co-housing in the greater Boston area. Yours in community, Valerie Paul and the rest of the BSC crew
