Charlie,

Here at Altair, we are also studying walks (as well as fire lanes, trails,
sidewalks, etc.) We have issues with the % impervious on the site, so ALL
of these will be pervious. We also have issues with stormwater management,
so some of them may also have recharge basins below them. There are also
structural issues - with reserve parking, fire trucks, and
the pedestrian walkway able to receive emergency (and possibly delivery)
vehicles.

Pervious paving requires maintenance - yearly vacuuming for leaves, pollen,
dirt, etc. There are at least NINE different kinds of pervious paving, and
there are wonderful solutions for HEATED walkways - both hydronic and
electric. We went to a local landscape supply house that was having a
workshop on all the kinds of pervious paving. We also consulted landscape
architects, who recommended structural fill and all kinds of solutions.
It's all fascinating, and worth your while exploring.

Trails: 7' wide; Ped Walkway 8" wide, 10' ROW; Fire lane: 10' wide, 24' ROW
(but don't let the Fire Marshal do what he did at Highline Crossing!),
sidewalks 5' These dimensions are all per the Township Zoning

Big topic. More if you want it.

Yours, Joel Bartlett R/A
