At Nevada City Cohousing, we find it makes more sense to have a $5000
- $10,000 contingency built into our annual budget that could cover
unexpected legal expenses when needed. Since we’ve adopted this
approach with the contingency, we stopped budgeting specifically for
legal in our operating budget.

The State of California generally requires $1500/yr for HOA Budgets.
