Cohousing-L Mailing List: Need ideas for bike storage in our parking garage

Our community has been moved in for six months, bicycle season is here, and
we are seeking ideas for indoor bicycle storage for our building, which has
an underground parking garage that can only be entered with a garage
remote, through the elevator or through a keyed door (so it's moderately
secure).

We are hoping for compact storage that can be used easily by people of all
ages and abilities, and that would allow those bike owners who are
concerned about security to lock their bikes to a fixed structure. We also
want to be able to accommodate e-bikes. Some of our residents are daily
bike commuters, some use their bikes a few times a week, while some use
their bikes infrequently. I don't have a clear idea of the number of bikes
we will need to store, but my guess is that it will be approximately 30.

What would be most helpful is a snapshot or two of your community's bike
storage area, along with a few words about how well it is working. Is there
anything that is working particularly well? Is there anything you wish you
had done differently? Do you have any specific recommendations for us? We
have been informed that we cannot store any flammable materials in the
garage, so cannot create any storage solution that involves wood.
