In our 23 years, we have mostly had good experiences with long term renters. (We don’t allow short-term rentals.) Some renters have become owners. Renters have brought more kids into the community. Renters have mostly been active valued members of our community. We have a non-voting renters representative on the board. Some of our renters rent a room in an owners home and some rent the whole unit. We have a suggested lease agreement that spells out the participation requirements. If renters don’t do the required work hours, owners must do the work themselves or pay $50 a month. > > Kelly Bellingham Cohousing > > >
