I already keep and update a list of the groups on this mailing list
which I send out. I would also be willing to organize the profiles.
Send em to me and someday I'll roll em all together. It would be very
helpful to keep these somewhat brief - Here is an outline of what to
put in a profile:

Name:
Email address:
Community name:
Community description: including # of homes, environment (urban, rural
etc.), number of people (targets for those in the working on it
stages), city or town and state, distinguishing characteristics (what
makes your place special)
Personal info - Professional stuff, maritial status, whatever else you
would want folks to know about yourself.

Sample below, reorganized into format. Notice that I removed some words
and put her name and email name on separate lines. If there is a
somewhat standard format, then as this "address book" grows it will be
easy to dump into other containers to sort and find names, etc.

I live in the Doyle Street CoHousing Community in
Emeryville, CA. Emeryville is just at the east end of the Bay Bridge which
goes from SF to Berkeley/Oakland. We are a small (12 units) urban community
living in a renovated industrial building. Seventeen adults ranging in age
from 31 to 70 live here with four children (9 mo. to 5 yrs), one teenager,
one dog and several cats. We share three meals a week and have one
association meeting per month.
I am a currently single woman in my mid fifties. I am
the founder of Good Vibrations, San Francisco's sex toy and book store and
mail order service.

I hope that someone will take on this project, collect profiles and post the
whole directory at once, or perhaps email or send it only to those who
request it so as not to clutter up the list.I wish I had the leisure to
volunteer.
