The organization that is assisting us has already built a straw bale home (and there are plenty of others around) which says a lot if you look at it from the viewpoint that they are a mainstream kind of organization (or were till we came along). The standard way a straw bale home is done (in this area anyway) is you volunteer to help in other straw bale projects, and in return those that you help come to help you.
